Congressman Michael Arcuri told the crowd gathered to see him that the government continues to make false claims that Social Security helped cause the deficit. He says the system has a surplus and is expected to be self reliant until 2037, after which, payroll contributions will be sufficient to pay 75 percent of scheduled benefits.
An Oneida County grand jury has indicted Brian and Ikiko Brown for a pair of local bank robberies and the shooting of an Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy. The 12 count indictment accuses them of the May 27th hold-up at the Bank of America branch on Mohawk Street in Utica, and the July 29th robbery of NBT Bank in Rome.
